Stop 8 of 9 on Pirates, Presidents & Purchase Receipts
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar
French Quarter, New Orleans
A Preview
"This building has been here since at least seventeen seventy-two. One of the oldest structures in the French Quarter. It survived both great fires. It survived being on Bourbon Street. It's called Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop because legend says Jean Lafitte and his brother Pierre ran a blacksmith shop here. One problem — the name Lafitte never appears in a single property record."
