The Presbytere

French Quarter, New Orleans

A Preview

"The Presbytere was designed to be a home for priests. It was never used as a home for priests. They used it as a courthouse instead. Built to match the Cabildo. Almonester paid for it. He died in seventeen ninety-eight before the second floor was built. Mansard roof added in eighteen forty-seven. Now it's a museum. The Presbytere houses the Mardi Gras museum."
